8 Best In-Person Excel Training Classes in NJ
I remember when my manager first asked me to prepare an Excel spreadsheet with the average purchase price of a product based on location. I had no idea what she was talking about. I gave her a crazy-looking table (don’t even get me started on the formulas). When she showed me all the things I’d done wrong, I felt so embarrassed that I knew it was time to take some Excel courses.
I struggled with finding the right in-person course as there’s just tons and tons of useless information on Excel classes online. Most of the info I found was about online courses, but I felt that with an online course I wouldn’t really be able to receive immediate feedback or get all my questions answered quickly and thoroughly. If your “in person nj excel class” search query also leads to nowhere, I do hope you find some relief on this page.
I have prepared for you a list of 8 in-person Excel classes in New Jersey. Technically, I haven’t taken any of them, but I spent a lot of time researching and comparing prices, ratings, and student reviews. Each class comes with information about price, duration, skill level, and who’s the class best suited for.

8 Best In-Person Excel Classes In the New Jersey Area
Below you will find my reviews for 8 in-person Excel training classes in NJ and nearby area. I’ve also added useful metrics like prices and skill level needed for each course so you can quickly see if it’s the right fit for you.
1. Noble Desktop Excel Bootcamp

The Noble Desktop Computer Training School offers a great solution for people who want to master Excel as quickly as possible. Now, the center might be located in NYC but since it’s only a 30 minute drive from New Jersey City and the online feedback was simply marvelous, I had to add it to the list.
Designed as a 3-day intensive, the workshop aims to impart a lot of knowledge in a short period of time. The bootcamp is structured as three workshops over three consecutive days, moving through Fundamentals, Intermediate Skills, and ending with Advanced Skills.
Lessons will cover everything from basic functions to advanced excel database functions such as INDEX and MATCH. Online reviews for the course are very positive, saying the delivery is well structured, the classes comprehensive despite the swift timeline, and the instructors engaging and knowledgeable. Plus, students receive lifetime access to additional online training videos which is a huge bonus in my book.

Ideal For: Beginners wanting to gain advanced skills fast
2. Excel Introduction from ONLC

If you’re a raw beginner looking for an intensive course, I would suggest you take a look at the Excel Introduction course offered by ONLC. Previous students say that as long as you’re confident in your basic PC skills, ONLC will teach you the rest – from data handling and formulas to formatting. This is great news for people with zero Excel experience.
You can get onsite training at any of the ONLC training centers, seven of which are in the New Jersey area. If you change your mind about in-person attendance for whatever reason, they offer the course online as well.
Classes run year-round, but this entry-level solution fills up extremely fast, so expect to have to book in advance. If their teaching style suits you, ONLC offers advanced courses in a similar format. But if you’re looking to start from scratch, for now, you’re sure to enjoy this one.

3. Excel Fundamentals from NYIM Training

Let me start by saying that the NYIM Training Center is in NYC and it’s going to take you around 30 minutes to get there from Jersey City. However, online reviews say that if your primary goal is to master Excel for business, this is the class for you.
In addition to the fundamentals (data entry, basic formulas, formatting, commonly used charts and tables, and workbook management), you’ll be taught time-saving business tricks, making this class a great resource for people who need to get their Excel up to basic business standards as quickly as possible. Plus, the class concludes with a small project to allow learners to practice their newly acquired skills. What I found quite appealing is that students can retake the course for free within a year if they’d like a refresher.
Student reviews praise the instructors for being thorough and suggest the classes are very accessible, so if you’re looking for a short and sweet introduction to Excel that you can fit into a busy schedule, this is a great option.

Since students sign up for each module separately, this is an ideal training option for people on a limited budget and those who would like to work at their own pace. It’s also useful for those who aren’t starting from scratch but hoping to gain more advanced skills.
Without the pressure of a bootcamp format, you can choose to attend the classes in quick succession, or pace them out as you get used to your new skill set. There’s a course variant for Office 365, too, if you’re interested in brushing up on your skills with the whole Microsoft Office Suite.

A professional Certstaffix instructor will come to your organization and help your employees up their Excel game. Now, it might not sound like the most entertaining company activity but I’m sure your team will be thankful down the line.
While Certstaffix offers a few variants on their Excel training, this specific course, Dashboards, is aimed at advanced users as it focuses on practical applications for advanced Excel skills. Learners are taught to analyze and summarize data they’ll encounter in real-world scenarios in their work environment.
