Blank Sign-In Sheet Roster
This worksheet offers a simple two-column sign-in roster. It has a place for participants to write their printed name and then record their signature. At the top, you can document additional information about the event.
Potential Uses
These customizable sign-in sheets are perfect for educational activities, keeping track of visitors to the office, or finding out who wants to volunteer at a club event. They are extremely versatile. Just remember that the key to using a sign-in sheet is to make sure the information you are collecting is the information that you need.
If you are a business tracking who is visiting, and where they are going, you won’t need a column asking for their email address. But, if you are gathering contact information for potential volunteers, you will want that email address. For each of these forms, you can change the column headers so you collect only the necessary information.
Here are three types of settings where these sign-in sheets can be useful:
Educational Uses
Many teachers and professors use sign-in sheets to track attendance. For drama classes, sports teams, or other performance-based activities, leaders may need to have an audition sign-in sheet available for students.
Additionally, the sign-in/sign-out sheet can give students a place to document when they leave. A teacher could use one of the worksheets to create a restroom sign-out sheet.
Administrators could even use one of these printable sign-in sheets to create a staff meeting attendance sheet.
Business Uses
Many board meeting attendance policies dictate that attendance must be taken at each meeting. A sign-in sheet is a simple method for tracking this.
You can also use it as a simple employee sign-in sheet.
Do you have a visitor management system in place? The sign-in/sign-out sheet can help you keep an official record of visitors.
Club Uses
In clubs and other informal organizations, sign-up sheets are extremely valuable. They help leaders keep track of who wants to volunteer for an event or who attended the fundraiser. Then you can transfer this information to your database at a later time.
How to Customize the Sign-In Sheets
The most practical use for the worksheets in this template is to pick a blank template that has the right number of columns and rows for your use. You should also make sure the form you select has the print orientation that you desire.
Simply by changing the number of rows, this Sign-Up sheet template can be made to track daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly attendance.
Each worksheet is set up to be printed on a US letter paper size but if you change the page layout size to something else, the template should work as well as the default size.
Once you have a form selected, you can begin customizing it to meet your needs. Here are some of the customizations you can do.
Change the Headings
At the top of the sign-in sheet there is a heading. You can change this to match the name of your company, school, or event.
Then, look at the row and column headings. If you want to collect different information, click on the one you want to change and delete the existing text. Then type in the heading that you want. Repeat this step until the form has the correct headings.
Change the Font
Each of these forms currently uses a default font. Changing the color or switching the font is a quick way to add branding to your sign-in form.
Here are two articles that can help you with these changes:
Add the Details
Many of the sign-in forms have rows to document the name of an instructor, location, event, or other details about the event. You can either manually write these in after you print it, or take the time to type them in before printing.
Put Your Sign-In Sheet to Use
When you are finished making changes, your sign-in worksheet is ready to print and use. Now you have a customized sign-in sheet that will be perfect for collecting the information you need.
