College life can be exciting – great parties, terrible food, more parties, and definitely no sleep. With all the excitement, it is a good idea to have some kind of organized schedule, to hold you accountable and remind you to go to class. That's where we come in. We offer a College Schedule Template to help you organize and track your weekly academic activities. In this template, college schedule worksheets range from a 5-day to 7-day schedule at 30 minute intervals with built-in priority settings.

Below are the worksheets included in this template.

For a typical college week. A 5-day college schedule organizer (with priority settings) at 30-minute intervals.

For a little extra study time. A 6-day college schedule organizer (with priority settings) at 30-minute intervals.

For the super-ambitious student. A 7-day college schedule organizer (with priority settings) at 30-minute intervals.

Using the Template

Personalize and Print

Before you start mingling with new friends, take a second to get acquainted with your new college schedule planner. The first row in each worksheet comes standard with the title "COLLEGE SCHEDULE" and a blank space provided for "Student Name." Click into the first row to add a personal touch.

Our worksheets are already set up to fit on one page for printing. If you prefer to travel light - print, fold, and tuck your schedule into your pocket.

General Use

Each schedule worksheet in this template has a cell that allows you to enter the 1st day of the week. But you don't have to follow a traditional weekly schedule.

For example, if all student activities fall on a Tuesday, while Monday is wide open, you can type in Tuesday as the first day of the academic week. Once the 1st day is entered, the next 4, 5, or 6 days will automatically appear as dates across the top of the schedule.

What if you don't have anything scheduled on Wednesday, but you have a study group on  Saturday to prep for a big exam on Monday? Simply overwrite the formula in the cell displaying Wednesday's date by entering Thursday's date. The remaining days to the right of Thursday will increase by 1.

Setting Priorities

Some activities will naturally take precedence over others. To make prioritizing easier, there is a drop-down next to each cell. This allows you to set a high, medium, or low level of importance for each activity. Each setting is color coded as described below.

(L) - Low (Gray)

(M) - Medium (Orange)

(H) - High (Red)

Cross Off Completed Activities

If you find it easier to manage your schedule in Excel, you can cross off classes attended and other student activities to keep track throughout the week. To cross off a completed item right-click on the cell containing the item, select "Format Cells" from the pop up list, and check the "strikethrough" box under "Effects."

Start a New Week

Ok, you're tired and stressed out from studying all week – but now it's time to do it all over again! Create a new worksheet to start a new week of planning.

Right-click on your preferred worksheet schedule (5-day, 6-day, or 7-day) and select "Move or Copy." Check the box for "Create a copy," and click "OK."

Finally, click on the new worksheet and rename it as you'd like.

Note: Another way to roll the current schedule over to a new weekly schedule is to copy the previous schedule table and paste it into a new page within the same worksheet. For more details, see Hourly Schedule Template 15/30 Minute Intervals - Historical Records and New Schedules.

Freeze Panes

If you are managing your schedule in Excel, it can be a bit cumbersome to have the first row with dates disappear as you scroll down to a later time in the day. To avoid this issue, you can freeze the first row so that it remains on your screen no matter how far down you scroll.

Note: To freeze panes you must be in either "Normal" or "Page Break" view, not "Page Layout" view.

Next, click into the cell below the top row with dates, and go to the "View" menu. Select "Freeze Panes" and select the 1st Freeze Panes option.

Customize

Night Class

Let's say you have a day job while attending school, so you signed up for a few of those 3-hour-long night classes. Good news: you can modify this template to include "night classes" by adding more rows with more hours. Simply copy the bottom row and insert as many rows as needed by selecting "Insert Copied Cells." The time intervals will automatically continue to increase as each row is pasted.

Change Color Scheme

You may want to jazz up your college schedule planner to suit your personal style. Perhaps a care-free Tie-Dye pattern or a Heavy-Metal black? To add or change color, highlight all relevant cells and use the "Fill Color" tool to change the background color. To change text color, repeat these steps and use the "Font Color" tool.
