Excel Version Poll
This is mainly a test to see if PollDaddy polls work with my blog software.

- By sc. Comment posted 26 January, 2010 6:07pmI mostly use open office. I the occasion arises, I use excel 2007. I will admit calc is not as good as excel. However, I do like Writer better than Word.

You left out the Mac users, although the smart ones run Windows Excel in a virtual environment on their Mac. - By Dick Kusleika. Comment posted 27 January, 2010 7:28amIt's weird that it if I refresh the page, it shows me the poll again rather than the results.
- By bve. Comment posted 27 January, 2010 3:32pmI had to upgrade from 2003 to 2007 at work and it has been a huge let down.
The ribbon may be OK for casual users but for power users it is a huge annoyance IMO. - By Hubba. Comment posted 27 January, 2010 11:47pm

I've seen PollDaddy polls also on other sites, and it works like that on those too. If you vote again, it will remove your old vote and replace it with your new opinion (at least I think so). I guess the blog keeper is supposed to post a screenhot of the result when polling is ended. - By JPII. Comment posted 28 January, 2010 10:53amExcel 2003 is a great tool but for me the ribbon in Excel 2007 is a huge annoyance. I suppose every professional user shares this view.
It would hope that Excel 2010 gives the user the option to work either with the traditional menu or the ribbon.
If MS continues to patronize professional users and force unnecessary radical "improvements" on them in order to make some more bucks MS Office will significantly loose market share in the not so far future.
I am currently experimenting with Openoffice calc and know that quite a few spreadsheet pros are doing the same. The program has not yet the functionality of Excel 2003 but that is just a question of time. And after a while of un- and re-learning it might be at least a better tool than Excel 2007.
Hope MS gets the message!
