Dear Mr. John,

I want to thank you so much for the EXCEL 2003 Bible and the EXCEL 2000 Formula books you wrote!

Several years ago I found myself literally pushed into a position that required, at the very least, intermediate Excel skills. My boss thought that because I had supervised the team they laid off, that I surely had Excel skills. Right... My only experience had been putting numbers in a spreadsheet... no formulas, no formatting NOTHING. I had to get up to speed FAST! I went to a class and they had your Excel Bible there... a few months after that I got hold of your Excel 2000 Formula Book

Now my team comes to me for answers. I love learning new things AND almost without fail you always get me going in the right direction.

I've managed to streamline many of the department functions so that data can be available in hours, instead of days (hours seem too long, but the multi-million dollar company I work for hasn't quite moved into the 21st Century with either hardware or software). People come to me now and say "do you think there's a faster / better / more efficient way to do this project?" LOVE IT! I ask them to write down their dreams about what they want and I'm like the Fairy God-mother when I can give them what they want And it's fun to research and play. I know, I have no life obviously And nothing makes me more excited than learning a new way!

Thanks also for giving me the opportunity to THANK YOU! It's long overdue on my part!
