Enhanced Data Form Crashing?
Is anyone else having a problem with the Excel 2007/2010 version of the J-Walk Enhanced Data Form?
Specifically, it crashes Excel every time I click the Criteria tab. It used to work fine, but a few weeks ago it stopped working. This has me stumped. I'm wondering if it's something unique to my system. One other person has a reported a problem with the Criteria tab, but he didn't say that it crashes Excel.
Using The Enter Key In The Enhanced Data Form
My Enhanced Data Form is an add-in that provides a data entry dialog box for any worksheet database. Pressing the Tab key while this dialog box is active activates the next control in the dialog box.
Several users have asked me if there's a way to use the Enter key to move among the fields. There is, but it requires some additional programming. I updated the Enhanced Data Form Customizing page with this code: Using the Enter key to move among the fields.
Enhanced Data Form Date Problem Fixed
If you use the J-Walk Enhanced Data Form -- and you don't use the U.S. date formats -- here's good news. I finally figured out how to get it to work properly with all date systems.
The problem has plagued me for years. As it turns out, I was looking for the solution in the wrong place. The problem wasn't writing the dates to the worksheet; it was reading them into the form. Doh!
In any case, I've updated both the Excel 2007 version and the Excel 97-2003 version of this add-in, and you can download it here.
